LCPB’s Danna Lizalde to Headline Bush Family Home’s Third Thursday
MIDLAND, TX - July 16, 2025 - The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin (LCPB) is proud to announce that Danna Lizalde, LCPB's Program and Outreach Coordinator, will serve as the guest reader at this month's Third Thursday Reading Program hosted by the Bush Family Home State Historic Site. The event will take place Thursday, July 17 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
This month's featured book, America the Beautiful by Cholena Rose Dare, celebrates the values and beauty of our nation. Children of all ages are invited to attend, receive a free copy of the featured book, and enjoy a hands-on themed craft-creating liberty bells to bring the story to life.
"I am excited to share my joy of reading and to encourage our community to take advantage of these wonderful events that are free. To collaborate and be a part of such a wonderful program that the Bush Family Home provides, as well as what the Literacy Coalition provides, is truly an honor."
- Danna Lizalde
This free, family-friendly event supports LCPB's mission to ensure every child in the Permian Basin has access to high-quality books. This mission aligns with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL), which delivers free books by mail to children from birth to age five. Events like Third Thursday Reading help extend that impact by encouraging families to build a culture of reading together.
The Third Thursday Reading Program is presented in partnership with the Laura Bush Literacy Program and is open to the public.
