The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin is a 501(c)(3) organization.
Your donation will be used to provide professional training, workforce development, family literacy curriculum, literacy assessments, awareness, and advocacy for adult literacy.
One in three adults in the Permian Basin reads below a 3rd-grade reading level and can be considered low-literate. The LCPB, together with its funding partners and provider partners will advocate, educate and empower adult learners to impact overall family literacy. If we want to impact children, we must impact adults.
Adult Literacy Programs:
Provide ESL (English as a Second Language) & GED (High School Equivalency) and Workforce Training.
Power Bag:
Encourages reading and interacting with children, as frequently as possible, beginning at birth.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library:
Mails free books to children from birth to age five to promote early literacy.
LCPB (Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin) Membership:
Offers access to literacy assessment tools, professional development, and sub-grant opportunities.
LBLL (Laura Bush Ladies for Literacy) Membership:
Fosters a love of reading through Laura Bush Ladies for Literacy resources.
Book Distribution:
Provides free books to promote reading and literacy skills in communities.
