Exciting News Happening Today- Dolly Parton Imagination Library is Officially Launched

- Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, a renowned literacy program that provides millions of free books to children worldwide, is officially launched in Howard County. This expansion aims to support local families by providing free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. As part of the launch, program representatives visited Howard County Library to engage with families and raise awareness about the Imagination Library. These visits allowed parents and caregivers to learn more about the program, ask questions, and register their children for the initiative.

The launch of the Imagination Library in the Permian Basin was made possible through the collective efforts of local community organizations, businesses, and volunteers. Initiatives like these will continue to be made possible by donations, such as a generous donation from ExxonMobil. Their contribution will play a key role in supporting the Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin's mission of increasing the literacy levels and skills of all people in the Permian Basin improving their quality of life.

"Ensuring kindergarten readiness is crucial, as it sets the stage for a lifelong journey of discovery and innovation. We open the doors to STEM careers by fostering early literacy skills, empowering the next generation to explore, create, and lead in a rapidly evolving world."

"Literacy is the foundation upon which all learning is built," stated Keith Underwood, ExxonMobil Permian Production Manager.

Through the Imagination Library, children in the Permian Basin will receive one book each month, specially selected to inspire creativity, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading. This program is open to all children under the age of five, regardless of family income.

Registration for the program is now open, and families are encouraged to sign up their children to begin receiving books right away. To enroll your child, visit https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability/ for more ways to sign up.
